Rafe Needleman Joins The Red Herring as Editorial Director of Events

Herring Communications, publisher of The Red Herring, announced that Rafe Needleman, formerly the editor of CNET.com, will join the company as the editorial director of its event division. Needleman will oversee the editorial content and programming for The Red Herring's acclaimed Venture Market series and its three recently introduced strategic business conferences: Herring on the Enterprise, Herring on Hollywood and NDA. Needleman's expertise in computing and the information technology industry will help build on The Red Herring's reputation for producing forward-looking events focused on the technology and trends that are effecting the digital economy.

Needleman joins the The Red Herring from CNET, where he spent two years as editor of CNET.com, the computing information Internet site. In this capacity, Needleman defined the editorial direction of the site, managing all editorial content, design and production, and authored the Browser Beat column.
