South-Western College Publishing Acquires Dame Publications, Inc.

South-Western College Publishing (SWCP), an International Thomson Publishing company and a leading publisher of business textbooks for the higher education market, has acquired Dame Publications, Inc.
Dame, a Houston-based publishing house founded in 1975, produces textbooks primarily in the tax and accounting disciplines, making it a good fit for SWCP, which dominates the national tax and accounting markets.
"We're looking for acquisitions that will build on our core competencies. Dame is a good fit from that perspective," says Robert Lynch, CEO, SWCP. "We're also interested in expanding our already successful custom publishing division, and the Dame acquisition allows us to broaden our ability to fill niche markets and better serve our customers."
