Space.com has announced that it has acquired explorezone.com, a website devoted to space and science news. explorezone.com founder and editor Robert Roy Britt joins space.com as senior science writer while continuing to edit explorezone.com.

"explorezone.com is an excellent source for in-depth space and science news and has built a dedicated following since its launch," said Lou Dobbs, Chairman and CEO of space.com. "It's a natural fit for space.com to join forces with explorezone.com as we continue to provide our users with the most comprehensive and most exciting space coverage possible."

Under the terms of the agreement, space.com will feature explorezone's reports on the latest space and science news and discoveries and will publish Wil Milan's Universe, a monthly astronomy column.

"I created explorezone.com with one goal in mind: to provide clear-cut, up-to-the-minute information on space, Earth and weather science," said Robert Roy Britt, Founder of explorezone.com. "Lou is assembling the talent to make sure that space exploration and discovery gets the best coverage. That's an adventure I wanted to be part of."
