Posted on December 22, 1999

Cygnus Business Media has announced that Steven D. Ryan has been named publisher of Modern Reprographics magazine. Modern Reprographics provides news, feature and technical articles about technology and business issues related to large-format imaging. Its subscriber list includes 18,000 of primarily owners and managers of reprographics firms.

"Steve has served the publishing industry for many years and understands the commitment required to both our advertisers and our readers," says Bill Lewis, group publisher of the Cygnus Graphics Network. "He has a wide range of knowledge that he brings with him to this publication and we look forward to his taking the lead."

Mr. Ryan most recently was publisher of Corrections Forum, a magazine he founded in 1992. He also worked as a magazine consultant for a Long Island publishing concern. He was previously publisher of Law Enforcement Technology and Mass Transit magazines, and formerly served as advertising manager for Security Dealer and Photo Trade News, all part of Cygnus Business Media's portfolio of magazines. Mr. Ryan is a graduate of Marist College and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.

"Modern Reprographics magazine presents an interesting challenge in today's publishing forum," says Mr. Ryan. "It requires maintaining a delicate balance between the architectural, engineering, and digital color sides of what has become an exploding wide-format business."
