Steven Elzy Joins Imagine Media to Launch New Division

Imagine Media has announced the hire of one of magazine publishing's acknowledged rising stars, Steven Elzy. Elzy is to head up a new division, Imagine Ventures, focused on growing the company beyond its current core markets in business, computing and video games.

Elzy joins Imagine after a successful track record at New York-based Primedia Inc., culminating in a promotion to President and CEO of the company's Special Interest Publications, a $200m business unit. Elzy also held executive positions as VP of Magazine Business Development and VP of Consumer Magazine Operations during his tenure at Primedia.

"Just occasionally you meet someone so right for your company, you just don't rest until they're on board," said Chris Anderson, CEO of Imagine Media. "Steve is such a person. From our first discussions it was clear he could make a tremendous impact at Imagine, and I am absolutely delighted he has agreed to join us."
