StrategyWeek.com News Service Launches

Posted on November 3, 1999

StrategyWeek.com has announced the launch of the StrategyWeek.com News Service. This service will provide original content for both publications and Internet sites, concentrating on how small business can improve their operations via a sophisticated focus on cyberspace. Articles from the service are already a weekly feature on The Wall Street Journal's small business news section, eMarketer and Inc Magazine's online edition.

"There is a vital need for this new channel of information," says Karen Lake, founder and CEO of StrategyWeek.com. "Small businesses with 1-100 employees represent over 99% of all employers and employ 53% of the private workforce. Small businesses with Internet access now number 57%. However, less than 5% of small businesses conduct sales online. Small businesses need tools and advice to take advantage of the potential and the power of the Internet. The StrategyWeek.com News Service is designed to fill this growing gap in the marketplace."

The StrategyWeek.com News Service will provide original content and columns based on the StrategyWeek.com weekly interviews with executives in the top companies that are creating successful online strategies. Recent interviews have included Tom Baker, general manager of The Wall Street Journal Interactive, Jed Smith, founder of Drugstore.com, Aliza Sherman, president of Cybergrrl Inc., Curt Allen, CEO of Ancestry.com, and John Payne, CEO ofStamps.com. StrategyWeek.com interviews can be heard for free in Real Audio format and all interviews are archived for future reference. Full transcripts of the interviews are also included on the site.
