Teenager Hits Internet Nerve With Teenspeak

Posted on June 17, 1997

TeenSpeak is a cyberplace where high school and college students give the world a piece of their minds. Lesley Ann Jones' TeenSpeak website has enjoyed over 750,000 visits and thousands of emails from students around the world.

TeenSpeak was chosen by Netscape as a "What's New" website. Yahoo picked it for their Sites of the Week. Several other internet search engines have given it prominent recognition. "Cool Site" awards and other accolades arrive daily.

Lesley Ann Jones is the subject of a feature article coming in the September, 1997 issue of Blue Jeans magazine. The website has also been written about in several newspapers.

Submissions come from students around the world wanting to talk about music, relationships, literature, personal problems, fashion, movies, girlfriends, terrorism, religion, etc. Lesley gives her opinion on some of the messages she receives, then posts them for other teens to read. She also invites visitors to send their suggestions directly to the participants via email links.

Because of her very balanced advice, Lesley is being referred to as the "Dear Abby of the Internet". Lesley graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School in Vandalia, Ohio, USA, earlier this month.
