The Truth's Out: Rove Not Indicted

Earlier this week Karl Rove was given the news that he will not be charged in the ongoing cia leak scandal. Jason Leopold's story posted at Truth Out that announced Karl Rove was indicted was clearly not true. Truth Out's story generated a lot of discussion in the blogosphere last month. Truth Out has since backed off their original story but they are still going to face credibility problems since their big story turned out to be false.

Some of the conservative blogs are elated that Karl Rove was not indicted. For example, the blog The Right Place posted a Fitzmas Carol written about Rove's non-indictment.

Which is exactly what Luskin told me weeks ago. It's over, folks. Karl Rove will not be charged with a crime. He's cooperated with Fitzgerald by testifying to the grand jury five times and providing whatever information he had without a safety net. Without a 5k. Without assurances he would not be indicted. That's a hell of a risk, but Luskin pulled it off. My hat's off to Luskin.
I opined repeatedly on TalkLeft and HuffPo that Karl Rove would be charged at least with making a false statement to investigators in the fall of 2003 before a grand jury was convened -- the Martha Stewart crime. That was wrong.
I'm ready to put this to bed. Karl Rove walked. He's one of the rare subjects of an investigation who was able to talk his way out of an Indictment.

Karl Rove will want to keep Luskin around to protect his bank account from a possible civil suit from the Wilsons. Karl Rove has wasted no time getting back in the spotlight. He recently used an interview opportunity to accuse left-leaning blogs of "mobilizing hate and anger."

"Among Democrats, my sense is that the blog world has tended to strengthen the far Left of the Democratic Party at the expense of liberal, but somewhat less liberal, members of their party," Rove said.
Instead of "focusing on good ideas," Rove opined that the "Internet for the Left of the Democratic Party" only "mobilize hate and anger."
"It has tended to sort of drive their party even further to the Left rather than focusing on good ideas that would help unite people around common goals and common purposes," said Rove.
"Instead, the Internet for the Left of the Democratic Party has served as a way to mobilize hate and anger - hate and anger, first and foremost, at this President and Conservatives, but then also at people within their own party whom they consider to be less than completely loyal to this very narrow, very out-of-the-mainstream, very far Left-wing ideology that they tend to represent," Rove continued.

Isn't Al Qaeda the group that mobilizes hate and anger?
