ThirdAge.com Becomes Anchor Tenant on America Online

Third Age Media, Inc., has announced that ThirdAge.com, a comprehensive source of content, community and commerce on the web for active older adults will be an Anchor Tenant in the Lifestyles Channel of America Online (AOL).

The relationship gives ThirdAge.com high visibility within AOL's Lifestyles Channel which offers AOL members information and services that address every lifestyle. Third Age will provide the 15% of AOL members who are 50 years and older with direct access to ThirdAge.com's resources. The partnership adds to Third Age Media's aggressive plans to become the most trusted source of information and services for active older adults - Third Agers - in the US and worldwide.

AOL members will have full and direct access to ThirdAge.com through the AOL environment, which gives them easy access to ThirdAge.com's hundreds of active forums, chat rooms, web guides, interactive tools, polls, feature articles, experts in the fields of health, money, technology and relationships, and the only daily syndicated online news service producing news for and about the Third Age Audience. According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, there are nearly 70 million people 50 years of age and older in the U.S. today. Internet use by this group is also large and growing quickly. According to a March, 1997 Nielsen/CommerceNet report, the number of Internet users in North America has doubled to 50.6 million during the last year, with an estimated 14 to 19% (seven to nine million) of them 50 and older.
