Posted on March 30, 2005

In May 2005, vertically integrated film production and distribution company, UrbanWorks Entertainment will introduce Black Film Month. UrbanWorks said it is establishing Black Film Month to help celebrate the richness and diversity of African-American cinema and commemorate the successes of filmmakers and actors who are not readily recognized in the mainstream arena. UrbanWorks will launch Black Film month with internet marketing, print and retail campaigns developed to heighten awareness of black films and African-Americans in cinema. Their efforts will include online advertising and email blasts, a print campaign in Upscale Magazine and specialized promotions with their retail partners.
