USA Networks, Inc. and Centropolis Entertainment have announced a merger between their interactive science fiction assets to build a network of SciFi websites. Website in the network include SciFi.com and Centropolis Entertainment's Mothership.com. Centropolis Entertainment has produced films such as Independence Day and Godzilla.

``We very much believe in original, clearly directed content for the Internet. We think SciFi is getting to be the perfect pitch for its audience and by joining with Centropolis' Fine creative work, we will continue to grow, sharpen and focus SciFi's interactive presence,'' said Barry Diller, Chairman and Chief Executive OfFicer, USA Networks, Inc.

Anchored by SciFi.com, the network will offer a rich media experience, including animation, streaming audio and video programming. Designed to be a one-stop destination serving all varieties of SciFi entertainment, the new network will link directly with Mothership.com, among other sites. The network will also feature branded community sites where fans can chat and post news on bulletin boards as well as create their own SciFi homepages.

``We are thrilled to be working with people who understand and are as passionate about the genre as we are. Together we will have the opportunity to blow the roof off Science Fiction entertainment as we know it,'' said Centropolis principal Dean Devlin, who will serve on the Advisory Board for SciFi.com.
