VertiNews.com Changes Name to Internet Publishing Group

Posted on January 10, 2000

VertiNews.com, Inc., an Internet company launched in February 1999, has changed its name to Internet Publishing Group, Inc. Craig O. Allsopp, president and chief executive of Internet Publishing Group, said the company's new name more accurately reflects its existing business activities and its strategy to innovate and expand.

"Our young company, originally known as VertiNews.com, is quickly earning a reputation as an authoritative and credible builder of websites that publish B-to-B news and analysis with related services," Allsopp said. "Renaming the company to Internet Publishing Group underscores our determination to establish IPGDirect.com as the dominant Internet site for breaking news, research and information while offering associated e-commerce and collaborative services for business professionals."

Allsopp said the core objective of IPGDirect.com is identical to that of VertiNews.com -- creating online news services that deliver news and inform decision-makers about the latest developments in niche, or vertical, markets. Industry experts lead news teams that report on the latest activities and analyzes business trends in each market. The company's mission is to put IPGDirect.com to work for business professionals by providing ideas, answers, and information that can't be found elsewhere.

IPGDirect.com's first news service, Commercial Real Estate Direct, was launched in July 1999. Its reporters provide coverage of the commercial real estate industry, breaking news on publicly traded companies and securities as well as major industrial, office, retail and multi-housing properties throughout the U.S. and Canada. The second news service, Asian Assets Direct, launched in November 1999, focuses exclusively on foreign investors who are buying assets and distressed loans from Asian banks and corporations in South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan.
