Vibe Names Sacha Jenkins Music Editor

Sacha Jenkins is named new Music Editor and Minya Oh named Associate Music Editor at VIBE magazine, it was announced , by VIBE Editor-In-Chief Danyel Smith.

Reporting to Smith, Jenkins will be responsible for editing and overseeing music coverage for VIBE at the magazine's headquaters in New York City. Jenkins has held the position of VIBE associate music editor since October, 1996. He started with VIBE in March, 1996, as writer-at-large.

Prior to joining VIBE, Jenkins was co-founder and editor of Ego Trip, a magazine which focused on everything from punk rock to urban and skate culture in June, 1994. In 1992, he was co-founder and former editor-in-chief of Beat-Down, a hip hop themed music magazine. Jenkins began his career, at age 17, as founder of a magazine focused on the international graffiti art movement.

In a separate announcement, Smith named Chicago native Minya Oh to its associate editor position. Oh, formerly managing editor of XXL magazine, worked as a writer/producer for MJI Broadcasting. She has contributed to VIBE, Pulse and was a staff writer at the Source magazine. Oh will report to Jenkins.
