Waco Tribune-Herald and Cox Interactive Media Launch AccessWaco.com

Bringing cyberspace down to earth is no small feat. However, every good Texan likes a challenge. The result is a new Web site that provides the interactivity and excitement of the Internet yet still captures the down-to-earth sensibility of central Texans.

AccessWaco.com was built around the community knowledge and experience of The Waco Tribune-Herald and the expertise of Cox Interactive Media (CIM). As a site on CIMnet, AccessWaco.com is part of the nation's largest, most extensive and fastest growing network of city and specialty Web sites. The Waco Tribune-Herald and CIM are both owned by Cox Enterprises, Inc.

Media expert and AccessWaco.com producer Brian Blansett is excited about the interactive aspects of the site combined with up-to-the minute coverage of community news and events.

Dan Savage, publisher of TheWaco Tribune-Herald, also sees great potential for AccessWaco.com as it develops a strong local community online. "Our goals for the Web site are to have a site that reflects our city and works well with our paper," said Savage. "Because of the great synergy between the print and online arenas, all of our goals have been met. The site reflects the values of our community and is a whole lot of fun!"
