Wiley Selects MindLeaders to Produce For Dummies Elearning

Posted on January 24, 2003

John Wiley and Sons, Inc., announced a partnership to license content from the For Dummies brand with MindLeaders, a provider of elearning solutions. MindLeaders is an online learning marketplace that provides over 1,000 courses and integrated elearning solutions through its partnerships with companies.

"Wiley's partnership with MindLeaders to create and distribute self-paced elearning courses is a natural extension of our brand management strategy. With more than 110 million For Dummies books in print, this trusted brand has proven over and over to be an invaluable resource. Extending For Dummies into elearning products offers an alternative to the print product that has been trusted throughout the years to help conquer "how to" topics ranging from computers, cooking, and careers to personal finance, public speaking and parenting," said Katherine Schowalter, Senior Vice President - Professional & Consumer Publishing, John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

The primary focus of the courses produced will be targeted to business markets wanting fast, easy-to-understand and comprehensive information organized in an elearning format. "The For Dummies books have gained significant acceptance among information technology professionals due to their accuracy, applicability and their attitude," said Angus Carroll, MindLeaders chief operating officer. "While the home audience was the original focus, these titles have grown to appeal to the entire spectrum of technology users."
