William Norwich has joined The New York Times Magazine in the newly created position of Entertaining editor. He will report directly to Amy M. Spindler, Style editor of the Magazine. "He'll approach entertaining as we do fashion, with wit, intelligence and a sharp journalist's mind."

Norwich has been a contributor to Fashions of The Times, the editor-at-large at Vogue magazine and an editor-at-large at Conde Nast House & Garden. He wrote an around-the-town column for The New York Daily News until 1991, and then wrote a similar column for the New York Post until 1993. A children's book he wrote, Molly and the Magical Dress, will be published by Random House in the fall of 2000.
