Posted on August 21, 1997

Wire Networks, Inc., a producer of interactive content for women on the Web and Hallmark Cards, Inc., a personal expressions company, announced the formation of a strategic business relationship. According to the agreement, Wire Networks will produce and distribute original, relationship-building content on the Web exclusively for Hallmark. The agreement also enables Wire Networks, Inc. to continue to fuel the growth of the company's network of Web sites including Women's Wire, Beatrices Web Guide and Prevention's Healthy Ideas.

Through the partnership with Wire Networks, Hallmark will continue to enhance its relationship with women who are now using computers and the Internet with increasing frequency -- representing over 40 percent of today's Web population.

"Wire Networks, Inc. has been producing content for women on the Web since 1994 and we understand the intricacies, needs and attractiveness of this important online market," said Marleen McDaniel, president and CEO, Wire Networks. "This partnership allows Hallmark to extend the reach of their trusted brand online and reinforces Wire Networks' position as the leader in creating and delivering the highest-quality content."

"The Hallmark brand is the brand that is synonymous with quality. And the brand goes beyond that," says Mary McClure, vice president, consumer products technology, Hallmark Cards, Inc. "Hallmark is sincere, warm, genuine and has a sense of humor. It is the brand people turn to when they want to express their feelings and touch the lives of others. Hallmark also is imaginative and progressive, which is why it makes sense for us to partner with Wire Networks."
