WireBreak to Launch Online Entertainment Network

Posted on August 4, 1999

WireBreak Entertainment, a new content production and distribution company, founded by former president of Paramount Digital Entertainment, David Wertheimer, has officially unveiled its online network at the Herring on Hollywood conference in Los Angeles. WireBreak.com is targeted to the 18-34 year old demographic and will launch this September with four original "Digital Shows" produced by WireBreak Entertainment. The site will also contain original content from outside producers that fits the WireBreak attitude and focus.

"The Web is its own medium, and it's about time entertainment producers started to treat it as such," said Wertheimer. "Through WireBreak.com, we offer 18-34 year old Joe and Jane WireBreak something that is designed for the way they live. Why take a coffee break when you can take a WireBreak?"

WireBreak's network will debut four original shows, including Daily News With 'Tude, a daily, customizable, humorous news program; It's Saul Good: In the Neighborhood, an interactive video-comedy starring Saul Good; Girls' Locker Talk, an expose into what girls gab about most -- relationships, guys and sex; and WireBreak Shorts, a hot spot for young digital filmmakers and animators to make their mark on the digital scene. WireBreak.com will initially create all of its own programs and will then look to aggregate additional programs and program ideas that fit its service and audience.
