Posted on October 4, 2005

The Associated Press reports that Yahoo has acquired an event planning website called bills itself a social event calendar that allows you to create event calendars and entires and also share them with others. The Associated Press speculates that Yahoo might add to its Yahoo 360 blogging service.
Because Upcoming revolves around social networking, Upcoming eventually might be blended into "Yahoo 360," a social networking and blogging section the company is testing. The listings about concerts also shape up as a logical fit with Yahoo's music offerings.
So far Google does not appear to have social calendar service as one of its many services.
