Mashable has announced a round of layoffs. The site has been covering a wide range of topics, including general news. The site will now be focused more on topics like technology, web culture and social media. When Mashable first started it was more of a technology blog with a focus on the emergence of social media. Facebook Attaches Automatic Alternative Text to Photos

Facebook announced it has started adding automatic alternative text to photographs shared on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. Facebook says the feature will reach 2 billion photos. Wealthy Silicon Valley residents now have a new glossy lifestyle magazine. The new magazine, Modern Luxury Silicon Valley, is published by Modern Luxury. Instagram Announces Move to Algorithmic Feeds
